Cheap Plant Markers

I hate having to buy/find plant markers for starting seeds. I like using the wooden ones, but they can be hard to find and are often expensive. After being inspired by a post SouleMama had recently, I decided to make some of my own!

DSCN0084Aren't these wonderful?!

They were so easy to make and took far less time than I expected. I simply walked into the woods and found a branch that had fallen down. I used a pair of gardening pruners to cut off some branches that looked like they would be big enough, then I used Matt's big rock camping knife to shave one side flat. A permanent marker wrote on it perfectly! I think these will also be nice to put in the garden once we transplant everything – they look much more natural than white plastic ones!
